So much has happened in the first term of this year. We’ve celebrated the official school opening, the first day of school and our first sports day.
Another recent achievement has been the planting of our kitchen garden. The gardens, planted by the children, are part of teaching sustainable and healthy lifestyles.
Years 1 and 2 have enjoyed giving their ‘green thumbs’ a workout by planting salad greens: lettuce, rocket, shallots, basil and parsley.
They are excited to watch their seeds grow and are enthusiastic about harvesting the rewards of their labour in early May. Their produce will be used to prepare a salad as part of our ‘Thank You BBQ’ for the builders and architects.
The students are looking forward to this event as our way of saying thank you to all those responsible for creating the learning spaces we have at the school.
Our kindergarten class has planted pansies in their own small pots.
These are being nurtured each day so that each student will have some potted colour ready for Mother’s Day (shhh! – this is a surprise).
