The ELC provides a beautiful space for young learners to create, explore, play, learn and discover. The centre aims to develop children’s curiosity through engaging with them in an enriching environment which stimulates and challenges them and supports them to play with ideas, hypothesise and solve problems.
Children attending the Early Learning Centre have opportunities to engage in hands-on experiences which promote thinking and problem-solving. Educators scaffold and guide children through these learning experiences and intentionally provide challenges so children develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes to a range of topics. A safe and supportive environment is created where children can undertake risky play which develops their confidence, resilience, ability to assess danger and how to regulate their body and behaviour in various situations.
The Early Learning Centre operates from 7:30am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, with the core Pre-School program running from 8.30am-3.00pm. There are two groups led by qualified and experienced Early Childhood Educators. These groups are the Dulwa group (three to four year olds) and the Kurrajong group (four to five year olds).
The ELC is currently operated by Anglicare, and will transition to The Anglican School Googong in the near future.
