Chaplaincy

The School’s Chaplain is available at school on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. The Chaplain’s focus is to support the students in their social and emotional development as well as share the gospel through Chapel and Christian Living lessons.

The Queanbeyan District Anglican Church also supports the school with the provision of additional chaplaincy services to the school community.

Services are also held to celebrate particular events such as Easter and Christmas. All community members are welcome to participate in these services with us.

School Counsellor and Medical Professionals

The School employs a School Counsellor one day each week during term time. Parents wanting their child to see the counsellor, can complete a referral form or liaise with your child’s class teacher or Head of School or Principal as appropriate. Referral forms for the counsellor are available on the parent platform, My.GoogongSchool.

If the school or parent believes that the services of other medical professionals are required, we will work with in partnership to seek this assistance. Medical professionals work in conjunction with the parents and class teachers, providing support by assessing students with educational difficulties and advising on appropriate strategies to support those students where necessary.

Student Banking

Student banking arrangements operate on a weekly basis to encourage the children in Junior School to save money. A small commission is directed to the school for each account that is opened. The banking is done through the Commonwealth Bank and administered in the school by volunteer parents. Banking day is Friday each week when students give their bank book to their class teacher for collection and processing. For further information or to download the App please visit CommBank.

Scholastic Book Club

The school participates in the Scholastic Book Club as a way of providing families with access to a wide range of books to purchase for their children, which in return provides additional resources to the school as a percentage commission is returned directly to the school. The Scholastic Book Club runs throughout the year and is run through the School Office.

Canteen Service

A ‘canteen service’ is provided by the Ciao Café in Queanbeyan on Monday and Tuesday. This is for lunch only and the menu contains a range of healthy choices for students and staff. Lunch is ordered and paid for through FlexiSchools and then delivered to the school in time for lunch.
