Adventuring in the outdoors
An important part of The Anglican School Googong is our outdoor education program. All students from Kindergarten through to Year Twelve engage in a camp program of some kind, as these learning experiences offer a different experience to learning in the school environment. The experiences through the camping program offer challenge whilst developing self-confidence, resilience, teamwork and collaboration skills.
The focus of the school’s camp program is about nurturing a love for the outdoors, building strong relationships, growing teamwork skills, conquering individual challenges, fostering community, enhancing the use of our Learning Power in a new context and learning more about our God who has created the wonderful natural environment for our enjoyment.
The camp programs include a range of age-specific activities including canoeing, archery, hiking, camp cooking, abseiling, orienteering, bush walking, bike riding, orienteering, caving, high and low ropes course, team initiatives and billy carting. Some programs incorporate an expedition and sleeping in tents.
